Yesterday’s job involved upgrading outdated R85 downlights to a more modern style. While R85 downlights were popular in the 90s, they’re no longer in vogue, and my customer was having trouble finding compatible lamps. Additionally, some of the old downlights wouldn’t stay securely in the ceiling.
Modern downlights typically require a 70mm hole, whereas the old R85 fittings needed a 120mm hole. No problem—using conversion plates made the job straightforward.
The transformation looks fantastic, giving the space a contemporary feel. The new LED lights blend seamlessly into the ceiling and provide much brighter illumination. Another satisfied customer!
