Completed a consumer unit upgrade and relocation in Great Gidding, including an upgrade of the meter tails. The old consumer units were positioned high up in a kitchen cupboard, making it difficult for the customer to access them when a fuse blew or the RCD tripped.
We relocated the consumer units to a more accessible height and upgraded them to 18th Edition RCBO boards with SPD. This means each circuit is individually protected, rather than having the entire installation on a single RCD that could trip everything.
We also restored the kitchen cupboard to its original appearance, covering any paint marks. The installation was tested, and a Part P building control notification was issued for the electrical work.
